Crossing State Lines: The Haunted Heritage of the Clark County Museum
In a special travel investigation, Eric and Nena left the familiar haunts of San Diego behind and headed into the desert to visit the world-famous Clark County Museum in Henderson, Nevada.
Spanning 30 acres, this museum is unique because it features “Heritage Street”—a collection of historic homes and buildings relocated from all over Southern Nevada. While these structures were moved to preserve their architecture, it seems that some of the original residents decided to move along with them.
The Beckley House: A Beacon for the Paranormal
As seen in their detailed investigation video, the centerpiece of the trip was the 1912 Beckley House. Originally located in downtown Las Vegas, this California Bungalow-style home was once the residence of Will and Leva Beckley.
Leva Beckley lived in the house for over 50 years, and many believe her spirit remains the “eternal hostess” of the property. For Eric and Nena, the Beckley House did not disappoint.
What They Uncovered
During the walkthrough, the duo explored the eerie, preserved rooms that feel frozen in time. The atmosphere inside the Beckley House is notably different from the other structures on the street. Key highlights from their investigation include:
- The Weight of the Past: As soon as they crossed the threshold, Nena noted a distinct shift in the air. This “heavy” feeling is a common report from museum staff, who often feel they are being watched while cleaning or setting up exhibits.
- Shadows in the Hallway: The investigation focused on the long corridors where shadow figures have been spotted by tourists. Eric and Nena utilized their gear to track movement that shouldn’t exist in a vacuum-sealed museum environment.
- Disembodied Sounds: Throughout the video, the team remains alert for the sounds of footsteps on the original wooden floors—a recurring phenomenon attributed to the Beckley family members who refuse to leave their beloved home.
Why This Museum is Different
Most “haunted” locations are stationary, but the Clark County Museum presents a fascinating paranormal theory: Can a haunting survive a move? By relocating these homes, the museum has created a “paranormal neighborhood.”
Eric and Nena’s trip proves that the energy of a family and their history is baked into the very wood and nails of a house. Whether it’s the Beckley House or the nearby print shop, the spirits of Nevada’s pioneers are very much alive and well.
